Orange County Library System will be closed Sunday, January 18 and Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The library system will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, January 20. View a complete list of holiday closures.

About Southwest Branch

The Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.

Services and Programs

  • The library collection includes books, audio books, informational and entertainment DVDs.
  • Public computers offering Internet access, word processing, and online reference resources including the Library catalog.
  • Regularly scheduled Story Programs each week. Tiny Tales for babies ages birth to 18 months, Toddler Time for ages 18 to 36 months, Storybook Fun for Preschoolers.
  • Various programs and displays for adults and children are offered throughout the year.
